Crocker Art Museum picks Hooshang's flowers

A floral Hooshang painting was part of an exhibit and auction at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, California.

The exhibit ran from May 22 through June 7, when the 36th annual Art Auction was held.

Hooshang's piece was "Picked from the Garden," a 24x30-inch acrylic on canvas.

Events June 7 featured the work of more than 100 artists in both live and silent auctions, followed by a gourmet dinner.

The first public art museum founded in the western United States, the Crocker Art Museum was established in 1885 and is now one of the leading art museums in California. It serves more than 250,000 people each year.

The Crocker is known for hosting one of the state's premier collections of Californian art, with works dating from the Gold Rush to the present day, a world-renowned collection of master drawings, European paintings, one of the largest and most comprehensive international ceramics collections in the country, and collections of Asian, African and oceanic art.
